90 Matrix SETU ATA211 V1 System Manual
• Polarity Reversal: If this option is programmed, ATA will consider the call as matured only if reversal of
polarity is detected on the FXO port. Forced Maturity timer is not applicable in this case. Default =
None.
Disconnect Signaling Detection
As a general application, telecom equipment like PCO machine is connected to the FXS port of the ATA. Now
whenever the called party (remote party) disconnects i.e. goes on-hook it is required to inform this event to the FXS
port, by some signaling. This will be used for the application when the PCO machine is required to consider the call
as disconnected and stop billing. In absence of this signal, the call is considered as complete only when the caller
goes on hook. But this will result in inaccurate billing.
To solve such problems, the ATA211 supports 'Disconnect Signaling Detection'.
When an outgoing call is made through FXO port or there is an incoming call on FXO and call gets matured, if the
called party disconnects the call, the disconnect signal will be generated. The FXO port of ATA211 supports
detection of following types of disconnect signal (Disconnect Signaling Type):
• None
• Polarity Reversal
• Open Loop Disconnect
Default = Polarity Reversal.
• Disconnect Signaling Type: Select suitable option for disconnect signaling as supported by CO.
• None: Select this when no signaling is available from the CO.
• Polarity Reversal: Select this when call disconnection is signaled in the form of Polarity Reversal.
When call is disconnected from remote user, the polarity of line gets reversed, the FXO port is released
(free) and caller will get error tone.
• Open Loop Disconnect: Select this when call disconnection is signaled in the form of Open Loop
Disconnect signal. ATA211 will check Open Loop Disconnect signal for the time programmed for Open
Loop Disconnect Timer. If Open Loop signal is detected for the time less than the Open loop disconnect
timer programmed, it will not be considered as valid open loop signal for releasing the port. But if Open
loop is detected continuously at least for the time programmed in the Open Loop Disconnect timer, it is
considered as a valid Disconnect supervision signal. After this signal is detected, the call will be
released and caller will get error tone. This timer can be programmed only if 'Open Loop Disconnect'
option is selected for Disconnect Signaling Detection.
• Open Loop Disconnect Timer: Program this if 'Open Loop Disconnect' option is selected for
disconnect signaling type. Program the time, for which open loop disconnect pulse detection should
be considered as 'disconnect signaling' by the ATA211. Range is 001 to 999msec.
Default = 200msec.
