Answer Supervision on FXO
ATA uses this signaling to inform the event to FXS port, about answering of the call by the remote party, whenever
the call is made through FXO port. This signaling is used for the application where the PCO machine connected to
the FXS port of ATA211, should start billing for the event of the matured call (when called party has gone off-hook).
In absence of this signal, the call will never be considered as matured by the ATA, when the called party goes off
hook. This will result in no billing. The ATA211 supports detection of following answer supervision signals (Answer
Supervision type):
None
Polarity Reversal
Default = None.
Answer Supervision type: Select the option as supported by the CO.
None: It is programmed when no signaling is available from the CO. If this option is selected, the call
will be considered as matured on expiry of the programmable 'Forced Maturity Timer', irrespective of
whether the call actually gets matured or not. After this, the system will start detection of Disconnect
signal or Tone programmed on FXO port.
Forced Maturity Timer: Program this timer if 'None' is selected for Answer Supervision Type.
Program the timer value on expiry of which, the call will be considered as matured. The range is
from 00 to 99 sec. Default = 15 sec.
