Alarms Alarm Responses
8.3.4 Configuring Alarm Levels
1. Select the Alarms tab from the Navigation Area.
2. Select the Responses button.
3. Select the applicable alarm group tab.
4. Select the applicable parameter alarm level radio button.
NOTE: The alarm levels available are based on the parameter. Some
parameters will not have all three levels available, as shown in FIGURE
8-3.
8.3.5 Understanding Alarm Response Settings
Based on the selected alarm responses, several monitor responses may occur when a parameter
alarm occurs. Configure each parameter to use any of the following responses:
• Print on Alarm directs the monitor to send the alarm data to the configured printer.
• Save to Event directs the monitor to mark the event and save it to the events database.
NOTE: Apnea alarms are saved to the events database only when
acknowledged. If multiple, short apnea events occur, but
acknowledged only once, only a single event will be saved to the events
database. To view a complete list of apnea events that occurred but
were not acknowledged, refer to the events log on the central station
the monitor is connected to.
•Nurse Call directs the monitor to send an electronic signal to the Nurse Call system.
NOTE: Nurse Call is not an available alarm response unless it was enabled in
System Setup.
