4 Product description
4.1 Scope of delivery
The motor-drive unit is packaged with protection against moisture and is de-
livered as follows:
▪ Gear motor (pre-installed on the on-load tap-changer)
▪ Control cabinet
▪ Connection cable
▪ Product documentation
Please note the following:
1. Check the shipment for completeness using the shipping documents.
2. Store the parts in a dry place until installation.
3. The product must remain in its airtight, protective wrapping and may only
be removed immediately before installation.
4.2 Function description
The motor-drive unit adjusts the operating position of on-load tap-changers
in regulating transformers to the individual operating requirements.
To do so, the on-load tap-changer is delivered with a pre-installed gear mo-
tor that is controlled by an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit
is located in a control cabinet and connected to the gear motor via a connec-
tion cable.
A complex installation of drive shafts and bevel gears and the associated
coupling and centering of the individual modules is not required for the
ETOS® TD.
