5.3.4 Turning gear
The turning gear slowly turns the crankshaft and thus moves the pistons, if the pinion (002,
Figure 5-21) is engaged on the flywheel (003). The electric motor (001) turns the pinion (002)
and is attached on the driving end of the engine. Related to the ratio of the gear wheels there is
approximately one full turn of the crankshaft in ten minutes.
