Using Markers
To Use Delta (A) Marker Mode
In marker delta mode, a reference marker is placed at the active marker
position. All marker values are then displayed in reference to this delta
marker. When the amplitude of the measurement trace changes, the
reference marker value also changes. The delta marker is represented by
a triangle pointing up (A) with a delta symbol (A) below it rather than a
number.
Limit testing can be performed on delta amplitude and delta frequency using
specihc markers. See “lb Use Marker Limit Functions,” later in this chapter.
lb follow along with this example, set up the instrument for a transmission
measurement of the bandpass hlter that was shipped with your instrument.
1. Press @ZiCZKj A11 Off Maker Search Max i!Mmh Mkr -H&x to
move marker 1 (the active marker) to the maximum value on the trace.
2. Press Priar Menu Prior M&u ?4a;rker Funcltions Delta ?UW ON
to place a reference marker at the active marker position.
3. Press Prior Nwm Maker Search #in Search Mkr -> Min to
place marker 1 to the minimum point on the trace.
4. The difference between the markers’ frequency and amplitude value is
shown in the upper-right corner of the analyzer screen.
5. Press Pr*ior Menu Prior Menu 2: . Use the front panel knob to move
marker 2 towards the right-hand side of the display screen. Note that the
marker 2 values are also in reference to the delta marker.
