6.16Installing the heim joint

The operations are the same on the upper and lower heim joints.

– Place special tool underneath and press the heim joint to the middle using spe-
cial tool .

– Mount lock rings on both sides.

– Mount and grease seal rings on both sides.

– Press in both collar bushings of the heim joint.
Info
Because the collar bushings are different ( thin, thick), ensure that
they are installed in the correct positions; see the photos.
If the collar bushings are installed incorrectly, the shock absorber will rub
against the swingarm.
