– Mount lock ring .

First insert the closed part of the lock ring and then the two ends to pre-
vent the surface of the damper cartridge under the groove from becoming
scratched and the O-ring from being damaged during installation or opera-
tion.
– Pull out the piston rod until the seal ring retainer rests against the lock ring.

– Mount locking cap with a plastic hammer.
– Fill the damper with nitrogen. ( p. 34)

– Turn adjusting screw all the way to the right.
– Turn to the left by the number of clicks corresponding to the shock absorber
type.

Warning
Danger of accidents Modifications to the suspension settings can seri-
ously alter the vehicle's ride behavior.
– Extreme modifications to the adjustment of the spring elements can
cause a serious deterioration in the handling characteristics and
overload some components.
– Only make adjustments within the recommended range.
– After making adjustments, ride slowly at first to get the feel of the
new ride behavior.
– Turn adjusting screw to the position measured during disassembly.
6.20Filling the damper with nitrogen

– Fix special tool in a vise.
– Mount special tool .

– Loosen screw of the filling port by approx. 2 rotations.
– Position the screw of the filling port at the top and slide the piston rod into the
damper cartridge until oil begins to emerge.
