5.3.6 Enabling the boot watchdog
If the boot watchdog has been disabled for firmware upgrade purposes (see
"Disabling the boot watchdog" on page 76), it has to be re-enabled to complete
the maintenance task.

imer settings can be configured in the BIOS or using the iRMC S5 web
interface.
Enabling the boot watchdog in the BIOS

Enter the BIOS.
▶
Select the Management menu.
▶
Under Boot Watchdog set the Action setting to Reset.
▶
Save your changes and exit the BIOS.

Enabling the boot watchdog using the iRMC S5 web interface

Log in to the iRMC S5 web interface.
▶
Select the Settings menu.
▶
Open the Server Management page.
▶
In the Boot W
atchdog group, check the Enable Boot W
atchdog option.
The Enable Boot Watchdog option must be selected.

Select Reset from the Watchdog Action list.
▶
Click Apply for the changes to take effect.
