2.17.1 Outline of tappet
The tappet converts cam rotation into linear
reciprocating motion.

The tappet receives the push rod with an push rod
seat.

the cam and tappet are set with centers slightly
offset and the tappet rotates while the engine is running
so uneven wear does not readily occur.
