2. Measure camshaft bore and compare to
specifications.
NOTICE
Replace cylinder head if camshaft journal bores are
damaged or if worn past the service limit.
MEASUREMENT
Camshaft Carrier Bore I.D.:
1.2598 - 1.2607" (32.000 - 32.021 mm)
Service Limit:
1.2615” (32.042 mm)
3. Calculate oil clearance by subtracting camshaft
journal O.D.s from camshaft carrier bore I.D.s.
Compare to specification.
MEASUREMENT
Calculated Camshaft Oil Clearance:
0.0018 - 0.0035” (0.046 - 0.088 mm)
Service Limit:
.0047" (0.119 mm)
CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL AND
INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
1. Remove the Intake Manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold
Service page 3.16.
2. Remove the Exhaust Headpipe. Refer to Headpipe
Service page 3.22.
3. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail.
Refer to Fuel Supply Line Service page 5.8.
4. Disconnect the Coolant Temperature Sensor

5. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Coolant Service
page 3.80.
6. Disconnect the engine outlet hose
w
and oil cooler
outlet hose

.
7. Remove the Camshaft Sprocket. Refer to Camshaft
Sprocket Service page 3.38.
