FRONT FORK AND STEERING 18-5
REMOVAL
Place the motorcycle on a block to lift front wheel off the
ground.
Remove the front wheel. (16-3)
Remove the front number plate 2 by removing its bolt 1.
Remove the handlebar pad 3.
Remove the handlebars 5 by removing the handlebar clamp
bolts 4.
NOTE:
Mark the paint mark A to the matching surface of handlebar
holder and handlebars before removing.
Remove the fork protector 7 by removing the mounting bolts
6.
Remove the brake caliper 8. (17-8)
Loosen the front fork upper clamp bolts 9.
Loosen the front fork cap bolt 0 1 – 2 turns to facilitate later
disassembly with the special tool.
09941-53630: Front fork cap socket wrench (50 mm)
Hold the fork body and loosen the front fork lower clamp bolts
A.
Remove the front fork.
