4.2 Hardware System Components
The M4 TORNADO consists of the following system components (see Fig. 6):
Spectrometer with sample chamber, excitation components (HV-generator, tube, optics),
detection components (detector, signal processing), sample positioning and viewing
components (optical microscope, X-Y-Z-stage), control electronics and safety circuitry
PC with peripheral components like monitor, keyboard, mouse
Vacuum pump
