6.4.4 Standard-based analysis for bulk materials
The analysis of bulk samples can also be performed using standard-based quantification
methods. Note that a standard-based quantification requires a wide variation of different sets of
standards.
For the standard-based quantification the use of a data file with the ending XADF is necessary.
Note
The XADF files can only be created with the additional software tool XData.
This XADF file can be loaded by using the downward-facing arrow right of the button.
6.4.5 Quantitative analysis of coating systems (layer thickness)
In layer systems both thickness and, in case of alloyed layers, the composition is of interest. The
quantification procedure runs in the same way as the standard-based quantification. Herefore an
prepared XADF file for the specific layer thickness application is required (see 6.4.4).
The XADF contains required information about the coating system, i.e.
the sequence of the different layers
the elements in every layer
the corresponding Fundamental Parameters for these elements.
6.5 Point Analysis
The Point workspace enables the measurement and evaluation of spectra of single points.
