The Import/Export menu offers several possibilities for loading, saving,
printing or copying of data. This is possible for different groups of data
(spectra, images, element distributions, results etc.)
Open… means loading a file from the memory with help of the usual
user interface. The type of file depends on the active workspace.
Copy… means copying into the clipboard for immediate further use in
another part of the program.
Save… means saving data in variable file formats depending on the
data type.
With Print… the selected data type (spectrum, image, result table,
etc.) will be printed after selecting the printer.

Manipulation of window sections. According to the actual work with the program the different
sections can be changed in size with help of a click&drag function on the separator line between
the sections. Special sections (image display, spectrum display) can be enlarged to complete
screen size by the green arrow ( ) in their upper right corner.
5.1.5 Analysis options
Standardless analysis. The software includes standardless quantification option (MQuant)
based on Fundamental Parameter (FP) which allows to quantify a large variety of samples
including plastics, oxides, metals.
Layer thickness analysis. The software also includes the possibility of determing layer thickness
for different materials. Herefore a standardless and a standard-based quantification method is
available.
Standard-based analysis. Standard-based analysis is provided allowing to improve the precision
of bulk quantitative sample analysis using a set of available reference materials.
Automatic and interactive spectrum analysis. M4 TORNADO performs automatic spectrum
analysis during or after spectrum acquisition and supports batch processing for multiple spectra.
Interactive spectrum analysis, which gives full control over all critical spectrum analysis steps, is
provided for in-depth examination of special samples.
