2042480-001 C Dash 2500 Patient Monitor 14-3
Alaris® Turbo Temp®: Description
Description
The temperature parameter in the Dash 2500 Patient Monitor uses Alaris
®
Turbo
Temp
®
technology and can be used with both oral (blue) and rectal (red)
temperature probes. While a determination is in progress, all information in the
vital signs area appears either red or blue, respective to the type of temperature
probes being used. Two modes of operation are available: predictive and
monitor. If a determination can be started, it begins when the temperature
probe is removed from the probe holster. The Monitor beeps once whenever a
temperature probe is removed from or returned to the probe holster.
NOTES
When any temperature alarms are generated, dashes are displayed in the
vital signs area and any determination in progress is terminated. To cancel
these alarms, return the temperature probe to the probe holster, choose the
alarm message in the SelectBox, or choose the turn parameter off option.
Once the probe has been removed from the probe holster and anytime the
temperature parameter is turned off, all old determination values are
cleared.
Temperature is shown in the vital signs area in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit,
and the unit of measure is indicated by the °C or °F display.
Indications and Contraindications
The Dash 2500 Patient Monitor is indicated for monitoring temperature. This
device is not designed, sold, or intended for use except as indicated.
WARNING
The performance of the Monitor may be degraded if it is
operated outside of the environmental conditions specified.
CAUTIONS
Be careful not to overextend the coiled cord of the temperature
probe. Overextension can damage the probe coil connector
interfaces.
Accurate oral temperatures (blue) can only be obtained by
placing the probe under the tongue in the right or left
sublingual pocket. Temperatures in other locations in the
mouth can vary by more than 2°F or 1°C.
Accurate rectal temperatures can only be obtained by using
the red temperature probe. Red and blue temperature probes
are not interchangeable.
