Data Connections
The Dash 2500 Patient Monitor has two communications connectors for remote
data access: Communication Adaptor Connector or Host Port Connector. Please
contact a service engineer from GE Medical Systems Information Technologies if
you want to use the communications connectors.
Dash 2500 network module
The Dash 2500 network module provides network communications between
individual Dash 2500 patient monitors and the nurse’s central station. This
allows the patient’s vital signs to be monitored from the CIC.
The Dash 2500 network module is installed inside the interface cover. The left
connector provides a 10 Mbps Ethernet connection. The right RJ-45 connector
provides isolated RS-232/422 communication for software downloading; these
two connectors are visible through the interface cover when it is in place.
NOTE: The Dash 2500 network module is compatible with CIC version 4.0.8,
4.1.1, 5.0.8, 5.1.0 and all of other versions which are compatible with
these four. For compatibility with later versions, check with your local
sales representative.
Interface Cover
The removable cover is secured to the Monitor through hinge-type latches at the
top of the cover and a Phillips-head screw at the bottom center of the cover.
Above the screw are two openings intended for connector access (without
removing the cover).
To remove the Interface Cover:
1. Loosen the screw.
2. Remove the cover off the Monitor.
