3-14 Dash 2500 Patient Monitor 2042480-001 C
Using the Dash 2500 Patient Monitor: Hardkeys
NIBP Go/Stop Hardkey
The NIBP Go/Stop hardkey initiates a noninvasive blood pressure determination.
If the NIBP determination is in progress, pressing the hardkey again cancels the
determination. If the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey is pressed while in an auto mode
determination, only the determination in progress is canceled; NIBP remains in
auto mode. If the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey is pressed while in stat mode, any
determination in progress as well as stat mode is canceled.
NOTE: The NIBP Go/Stop hardkey is unavailable if an OVERPRESSURE alarm is
active.
How to start or stop an NIBP determination
1. Choose appropriate cuff size.
2. Squeeze all air from the cuff.
3. Place the appropriate cuff snugly on the patient.
4. Push the NIBP Go/Stop hardkey. The cuff pressure appears in the NIBP field
of the screen, and the manual label appears on the screen above the time
since the last determination.
5. To stop an NIBP determination at any time,
push
the
NIBP Go/Stop
hardkey
during the determination.
NIBP Auto Hardkey
The NIBP Auto hardkey initiates auto and stat determinations and opens the
Auto BP menu option for quick access to set the auto cycle time. You can also
access custom auto BP mode in this menu, letting you meet the needs of your
clinical situation.
The time between auto-BP determinations is user-selected (1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 10-,
15-, 20-, 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-minute intervals).
NOTES
The NIBP Auto hardkey is unavailable if an OVERPRESSURE alarm is active.
The quick-push function of this hardkey is unavailable if: 1) the freeze
feature is active or 2) an adjuster menu is open.
During a stat determination, the Monitor sounds a tone and displays the
early systolic pressure. The early systolic value will disappear once the
blood pressure determination is complete. Early systolic is not shown for the
first stat determination.
If the unit is on battery operation and battery life is at or below 10%, stat
determinations will not be enabled. However, current stat determinations
will be completed if underway at the time of the BATTERY LOW alarm.
