Checks Before Starting 3
Always check the items in this section before starting the engine each day.
Check Coolant Level, Add Coolant
WARNING
q Do not open the radiator cap unless necessary. When checking the coolant, always wait for the
engine to cool down and check the sub tank.
q Immediately after the engine is stopped, the coolant is at a high temperature and the radiator is under
high internal pressure. If the cap is removed to check the coolant level in this condition, there is a
hazard of burns. Wait for the temperature to go down, then turn the cap slowly to release the pres-
sure before removing it.
1. Open the door at the rear left of the machine, and check if
the cooling water in sub-tank (1) (shown in the diagram on
the right) is between the FULL and LOW marks. If the
water level is low, add water to the FULL level through the
filler port of sub-tank (1).
2. After adding coolant, tighten the cap securely.
3. If the sub tank is empty, there is probably leakage of water.
After inspecting, repair any abnormality immediately. If
there is no abnormality, check the water level in the radia-
tor. If the water level is low, add water to the radiator, then
fill the reserve tank (1).
