Disassemblin the compression damp'inl rminl

I The steps are identical for both fork legs.

Checkinl the fork I~

- Disassemble the fork legs. ( .. p. 16)
- Clamp the compression damping fitting in a bench vise using soft jaws.
- Remove nut
O.
- Remove the spri ng.
- Remove washer ••
- Remove piston •.
- Remove shim stack •.
- Remove O-ring. and seal ring. from the compression damping fitting.
- Extract the compression damping fitting.
Condition
The fork legs must be disassembled.
- Check the inner tube and axle clamp for damage.

If there is damage:
- Change the inner tube.
- Measure the outside diameter at several locations on the inner tube.
Outside diameter of the inner tube
47.975 ... 48.005 mm (1.88878 ...
1.88996 in)

If the measured value is below the specified value:
- Change the inner tube.
