- Measure the run-{)ut of the inner tube.
I Inner tub run-out I S 0.20 mm (S 0.0079 in)
•
If the measured value is greater than the specified value:
- Change the inner tube.
- Check the outer tube for damage.
•
If there is damage:
- Change the outer tube.
- Check the surface of the sliding bushing.
•
If the bronze-colored layer. under the sliding layer. is visible:
- Replace the sliding bushing.
- Check the spring length.
Guideline
I Spring length with preload spacer(s) I 510 mm (20.08 in)
•
If the measured value is greater than the specified value:
- Reduce the thickness of the preload spacer.
•
If the measured value is less than the specified value:
- Increase the thickness of the preload spacer.

I The steps are identical for both fork legs.
- Clamp the compression damping fitting in a bench vise using soft jaws.
- Mount
O-ring. and seal ring •.
- Grease the O-ring.
