Removina: the rear wheel
Warning
- Raise the motorcycle with the lift stand. (r p. 10)

Press the brake caliper by hand on to the brake disc in order to press back the
brake piston.
• Info
I Make sure when pushing back the brake piston that you do not press the
brake caliper against the spokes.
- Remove nut •.

- Remove chain adjuster •• Withdraw wheel spindle. only enough to allow the rear
wheel to be pushed forward.
- Push the rear wheel forward as far as possible. Remove the chain from the rear
sprocket.
- Holding the
rear wheel, withdraw the wheel spindle. Take the rear wheel out of the
swingarm.
• Info
I Do not operate the foot brake when the rear wheel is removed.
Always lay the wheel down in such a way that the brake disc is not dam-
aged.
- Remove spacers •.
Danler 01 accidents Reduced braking efficiency due to oil or grease on the brake discs.
- Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease, and clean them with brake cleaner when necessary.
- Check the wheel bearing for damage and wear.
• If the wheel bearing is damaged or worn:
- Change the wheel bearing.
- Clean and grease shaft seal rings 0 and bearing surface. of the spacers.
I Long-life grease (r p. 252)
- Insert the
spacers.
- Lift the rear wheel into the swing arm, position it, and insert the wheel spindle •.
- Put the chain on.
