Configuring Alarm Reporting
The purpose of the WIS is to allow an Ethernet data streams that can be mapped directly to the STS-192c
stream or VC-4-64c streams at the physical level without requiring MAC or higher-layer processing. The
WIS adds path, line, and section overheads to generate the WIS frame. By default, line-level, section-level,
and path-level alarms, which can be configured and used to selectively report and manage the alarms internally,
are generated.
