logging source-interface
To set all system logging (syslog) messages being sent to syslog servers to contain the same IP address,
regardless of which interface the syslog message uses to exit the router, use the logging source-interface
command in global configuration mode. To remove the logging source-interface command from the
configuration file and remove the source designation, use the no form of this command.
logging source-interface type interface-path-id
no logging source-interface
Syntax Description
Interface type. For more information, use the question mark (?) online help function.
type
Physical interface or virtual interface.
Use the show interfaces command to see a list of all interfaces currently
configured on the router.

Usage Guidelines
Normally, a syslog message contains the IP address of the interface it uses to leave the networking device.
Use the logging source-interface command to specify that syslog packets contain the IP address of a particular
interface, regardless of which interface the packet uses to exit the networking device.
Use the logging, on page 308 command to specify a syslog server host as a destination for syslog messages.
