static
— Display static neighbor discovery cash entries.
dynamic
— Display dynamic neighbor discovery cash entries.
ipv6-address
— Display the neighbor discovery cache information entry of a specific IPv6 address.
mac-address
— Display the neighbor discovery cache information entry of a specific MAC address.
Command Mode
Privileged EXEC mode.
User Guidelines
The associated interface of a MAC address can be aged out from the FDB table, so the Interface field
can be empty.
When an ARP entry is associated with an IP interface that is defined on a port or port-channel, the
VLAN field is empty.
The possible neighbor cash states are:
INCMP
(Incomplete) — Address resolution is being performed on the entry. Specifically, a Neighbor
Solicitation has been sent to the solicited-node multicast address of the target, but the corresponding
Neighbor Advertisement has not yet been received.
REACH
(Reachable) — Positive confirmation was received within the last ReachableTime
milliseconds that the forward path to the neighbor was functioning properly. While REACHABLE, no
special action takes place as packets are sent.
STALE
— More than ReachableTime milliseconds have elapsed since the last positive confirmation
was received that the forward path was functioning properly. While stale, no action takes place until a
packet is sent.
DELAY
— More than ReachableTime milliseconds have elapsed since the last positive confirmation
was received that the forward path was functioning properly, and a packet was sent within the last
DELAY_FIRST_PROBE_TIME seconds. If no reachability confirmation is received within
DELAY_FIRST_PROBE_TIME seconds of entering the DELAY state, a Neighbor Solicitation is sent
and the state is changed to PROBE.
PROBE
— A reachability confirmation is actively sought by retransmitting Neighbor Solicitations
every RetransTimer milliseconds until a reachability confirmation is received.
