AP4-1
SIM Card (Subscriber Identity Module Card)
SIM/USIM card is an IC card where the unique ID number used for identifying the
phone number is recorded. SIM cards are assigned with the unique numbers referred to
as IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity,) and communication is enabled by
connecting this IMSI with the phone number.
By inserting / pulling out the SIM card, you can transfer the phone number to other FB
terminals, or you can use a single FB terminal by switching between several different
phone numbers. Please note that SIM cards are not manufactured based on the
assumption that they will be inserted/pulled out frequently; make sure to turn off the
power of the SIM card before inserting it/pulling it out.
PIN code (Personal Identity Number)
PIN code is a 4 to 16 digit number (code) which is to be entered for the purpose of
confirming the user every time the power is turned on so that the SIM card would not be
used by an unauthorized third party.
If you fail to successfully enter the PIN code for 3 consecutive times, the SIM card
will be forced to be locked. This locked status can be released by entering the “PUK
code”.
Note)
Even if you turn the power off, the frequency you had failed to enter the correct
code will be memorized in the SIM card and would not be restored.
(10 consecutive time from when you had entered the correct code.)
PUK code (Personal Unlock Key)
PUK code is an 8-digit number (code) which is used for releasing the lock which will be
applied when the user fails to enter the correct PIN code for consecutive 10 times.
When you enter the PUK code, the lock will be released and a screen for resetting the
new “PIN code” will be displayed; enter a new PIN code to complete the setting.
IMEI
IMEI is the abbreviation for “International Mobile Equipment Identifier”, and is an ID
number assigned for each FB terminal. In FELCOM-250/500, IMEI is saved in
EEPROM in the MODEM substrate.
This ID number consists of 15 digits of numbers.
OTA (Over The Air)
This is a function used for rewriting the contents for the SIM module, etc. by using the
wireless circuit.
When you set “Enable” for “OTA”, the SIM internal parameters will be changed
according to the information provided by the FB network.
