2. If the Banknote Validation Section is dirty due to
dust, foreign objects or other such debris adher-
ing to it, Banknote acceptance rate will degrade.
Clean the
VEGA Unit once a month to keep its
performance stable.
3. Use a lint-free cloth or c
otton swabs to carefully
remove dirt on the Sensors and to remove any
Paper powder dust adhering to the Rollers.
4. Do not redesign or disassemble the VEGA Vali-
dator. Unauthorized use b
y inadequately trained
personnel, or use outside the original manufac-
turer’s intent for operation voids the warranty.

ANDLING
Observe the following precautions when handling
a Cash Box:
1. If the Cash Box does not securely mount in place,
have Security Management solve the problem.
2. Do not strike or drop the Cash Box to the ground;
thi
s may cause it to incure remounting damage.
Mounting & Dismounting the Unit
Observe the following precautions when mounting
ans dismounting the Unit:
1. Be sure to turn the Power OFF before mounting
or removing the VEGA Unit from its permanent
location.
2. Plugging or unplugging connector receptacles
whi
le the Power is ON may cause damage to the
Unit.
3. If transporting the VEGA Unit without a Cash
Box,
its Frame’s shape may become bent in the
process. Always install a Cash Box into the
VEGA Unit when transporting it.
Placing Foreign Objects into the Unit
Observe the following precautions when placing
foreign objects into the Unit:
1. Do not insert anything except Banknotes into the
Insertion Slot. Inserting Receipts, Stapled Tick-
ets, Rubber Bands, or Credit Cards into the Unit
may
damage the Banknote Transport path.
2. Do not inject liquids into the Banknote Insertion
Slot. Injectin
g water, oil or cleaning agents may
damage the Sensors’ within the Banknote Trans-
port path.
Unacceptable Banknotes
The following Banknote types may not validate
correctly, or can cause a Banknote jam and/or dam-
age to the Unit’s Transport path. Banknotes exhib-
iting the following conditions should be avoided
(See Figure 1-3 ):
•
Torn
•
Having excessive folds
•
Dirty
•
Wet
•
Having excessive wrinkles
•
Adhering foreign objects and/or oil.
WARNING: Under no circumstances
allow a cleaning cloth to be wet enough
to allow excess fluid to run into the
device; internal printed circuit boards
may be damaged. Do not use any
alcohol, citrus based cleaners, solvents
or scouring agents that can damage the
plastic surfaces of the device.
WARNING: Do not inject water or liquid
agents of any kind into the Validator; as
this may cause extreme damage to the
Unit.
