15.7 Adjusting the headlight range

Main work
– Remove expanding rivets 1.

– Remove screws 2.
– Lift the headlight mask slightly and swing forward.

– Adjust the beam distance of the headlight by turning screw 3.
Guideline
For a motorcycle with rider, and with luggage and a passenger if applicable, the
light/dark boundary must be exactly on the lower mark (applied in: Checking
headlight adjustment).
Info
Turn clockwise to increase the headlight range; turn counterclockwise to
reduce the headlight range.

– Fold the headlight mask up.
– Mount and tighten screws 2.
Guideline
Screw, headlight mask M6 11 Nm (8.1 lbf ft)

– Mount expanding rivets 1 on both sides.
Finishing work
– Check the headlight setting. ( p. 77)
