Information on upshifting/downshifting or
the engaged gear is displayed on the Inter-
action Unit.
On vehicles without a gear shift indicator,
the engaged gear is displayed.
Example Description
In continuous manual mode M:
Optimal gear is engaged.
With shift paddles: temporary
manual mode.
With shift paddles: Sport pro-
gram.
Shift information.
Additional information:
Shift paddles, refer to page 121.
Shift lights
Principle
Shift lights are temporarily displayed on the
Head-up display and indicate the correct
time to upshift in order to achieve rapid
acceleration.
Functional requirement
Manual mode M must be activated for the
shift lights to appear.
Display
Successive fields illuminating yellow indi-
cate an upcoming shift point.
– Shift before the red lights illuminate.
– When the maximum rotational speed is
reached, the entire display flashes red
and the fuel supply is interrupted in or-
der to protect the engine.
Range
Principle
The range indicates the distance that can
still be covered with the current tank of
fuel.
General information
The estimated range with remaining fuel is
displayed on the Interaction Unit.
With a low remaining range, a Check Con-
trol message is briefly displayed. A low re-
maining range means that engine functions
cannot always be ensured for sporty driv-
ing, e.g., when cornering at speed.
The Check Control message appears con-
tinuously below a range of approx.
30 miles/50 km.
