Activating/deactivating the rear-
collision warning
The rear-collision warning is automatically
activated whenever you start driving.
The system is deactivated when reversing.
System limits
General information
Follow the system limits in the "Collision
warning systems" chapter.
Functional limitations
The rear-collision warning may be re-
stricted if the speed of the approaching ve-
hicle is much higher or similar to your own
speed.
Cross Traffic Warning with
brake intervention
Principle
The Cross Traffic Warning with brake in-
tervention helps the driver by providing
visual and acoustic warnings when driving
through confusing exits or pulling out of
perpendicular parking spaces.
The system detects road users approaching
from the side earlier than would be possible
from the driver’s seat.
If there is a risk of collision when reversing,
this system provides assistance by perform-
ing an automatic brake intervention.
The sensors monitor the area behind the
vehicle.
The system displays a warning light on the
exterior mirror, for example, when other
road users are approaching.
The cross traffic warning can be activated
or deactivated on the Interaction Unit.
General information

sistance systems" chapter.
Safety information
Warning
The system cannot serve as a substitute
for the driver’s personal judgment in as-
sessing the traffic situation. Based on the
limits of the system, it cannot independ-
ently react to all traffic situations. There
is a risk of accident, injury, or property
damage. Adjust driving style to traffic con-
ditions. Watch the surrounding traffic sit-
uation closely, be ready to take over steer-
ing and braking at any time, and actively
intervene where appropriate.
