REED PETAL INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT
Use extreme care when handling the reed petals. The
petals are fragile and can easily crack and break if
mishandled.
1. The outer
q
and inner
w
petals are not the same.
Make sure the petals are installed in their specified
locations.
2. Do not reuse the inner petal retainer bars. Use the
new parts suppled with the kit.
3. Place the two inner reeds into the center of the inner
reed cage, making sure they are at the bottom.
4. Separate the inner reeds with your finger, and then
place a new retainer bar
e
on an upward angle
making sure it fits between the inner reeds.
5. Slide the retainer bar into the inner cage making sure
it is parallel to the cage base and that it engages the
reed locating tabs.
6. Install a new retainer bar on the other side of the cage
assembly.
7. Use a screwdriver or similar tool to push the retainer
bars flush with the reed cage surface.
8. Install the two outer reed petals

onto the cage
making sure the slots engage the cage tabs.
