17.Remove or slide the fuel tank

rearward by carefully
freeing the fuel tank mounting tab from the fuel tank
bracket on the over structure.
FUEL TANK INSTALLATION
WARNING
Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under
certain conditions. Do not smoke or allow open flames
or sparks in or near the fuel tank / fuel system.
1. Verify the foam pads on the tunnel are installed and
not damaged.
2. Install the fuel tank

by carefully hooking the fuel
tank mounting tab onto the fuel tank bracket on the
over structure and aligning the rear tank tabs with the
studs of the fuel tank support.
3. Route fuel pump wire harness under the return fuel
line and to the main harness on the left side of the
fuel tank. Reconnect the fuel pump wire harness
connector

IMPORTANT
Ensure proper routing.
4. Reconnect the fuel supply and return hose
connectors

at the fuel pump flange assembly.
NOTICE
Note the position of the supply and return fuel hoses.
Connect the 5/16” connector to the 5/16” fitting on the
pump flange and connect the 3/8” connector to the 3/8”
fitting on the pump flange.
IMPORTANT
Do not apply excessive pressure to fuel fittings or clips.
5. Perform a push/pull test on the fuel line connections
with at least 5 lbs. of force.
IMPORTANT
Connections should NOT disengage during push/pull
test.
