PISTON RING INSTALLATION
Cl ean the piston ring grooves thoroughly and install
the piston rings .
NOTE:
Apply oil 10 the piston rings.
Avoid piston and p iston ring da mage during
installat ion.
Inst all the piston rings with their mar ks f ac ing up.
00 not sw itch the top and second rings; the to p
ring is narrower than the second ring in width.
Space the piston ring end gaps 120 degrees apart.
00 not align the gaps in the o il rings (side rails),
Afte r installation, the rings should r Ola te free ly in
the ring groo ve s.
