MAINTENANCE
Check th e ac ti on of the shock absorber by compres -
sing it several tImes.
Check the entire shock absorber asse mb ly for s ign s
o/Ieaks, damage or l oose fasteners.
Repl ace damaged components wh ich cannOt be
repaired.
Tighten all nuts and bolts _
Refer to sec tio n t2 far sh oc k absorbe r service.
SPARK ARRESTER

Wait until . he pipe has cooled before removing
Or installing the spark arrester lid .
Perform this operation in a welllventilated a'ea
free from combustible materials .
Use adequate eye protect/on .
' ')8 - 2000. Remove the two bolts.

Remove the spark arrestor lid and gas ke t_
Start rhe engine and rev it up 20 t imes while
momontarily creatrng e )( haust syst em b ac k pressure
by blocking the end of the e)(hau$t pipe wi th II r llg
10 blawcarbon out althe muffler hole.
Ensure that the muffler li d bol ts and gas ~ et are in
good condition. Replace if necessary,
