If the peak vo ltage measured at the ICM connector
is abnorma l. measure the pe ak VO ltage at the pu lse
gener at or connector .
Disconnect the i gnitio n pu lse gene r ator connector
and connect the tester probes to the term inal (Bluel
Yel l ow and Gr ound ).
In the same manne r as at the ICM connecto r,
measure the peak vo ltage and compare ;t to the
vo ltage measured at the tCM connector .
If Ihe peak VO l tage measured at the I CM is
abnorma l and the one measured at the ignit ion
pu lse genera t or is normal, the wire harness has
an open circuit
or a loose conne c tion.
If both peak voltages are abnorma l. check cach
il em in the tro ubleShooting chart on page 13 - 3.11
all it ems are nor mal, the ign i tion pulse generator
is faulty. Set page 13-10 f or ign ition pulse
generato r replacement.

NOTE:
Check
cylinder compression and che<:k that the spark
pl
ug is insta lled correctly.
Remove
the fuel tank (page 2- 3) .
Disconnect the
3P and 2P connectors fr om the ICM.
Connect the peak voltage adaptor or peak vo l tage
leSter probes to the connector term inals of the wi re
harness side.

Pe ak voltage adaptor 07HGJ·00201 00
( not available in U.S. A. ) with commercia lly available
digital multim e ter (impedance 10 M O/ OCV
mi nimum)
CONN ECTION:
Bl
ac k /Red lerm inal (. ) - B ody ground H
Crank the en gine with the kickstarter and read the
peak
voltage.
PEAK VOLTAGE: 100 V min i mum
