If the engine must be running to do some work,
make sure the area
is well ventilated. Never rUn the
engine
in an en&losed area. The exhaust &ontains
poisonous l!arbon mono"ide gas that mar c ause
loss of consciousness and mar lead to death. Run
the engine in an optm area or with an e"haust
evacuation srstem in endosed area.
NOTE:
The air
screw is factory pre-ser. Adjustment is not
necessary unlas5 the c arburet or is over hauled or
new air screw is instalfed.
Th e ong i ne must be warm lor accurate
act i ustment. Ten minutes of stop' and-go riding i",
sufficien!.
Use a tachometer with gradua t io ns 0150 rpm or
smaller that wi ll accurately i nd ic ate 50 rpm
change .
1. Turn the air screw clockw ise urttil it seats lightly,
then back it ou t 10 the spec if icati on given.
CAUTION:
FUEl SYSTEM

screw;s tightened against the seat.
INInAL OPENING: 2-118 turns ou t
2. Warm the eng ine up to ope ra ti ng temperature.
J. Stop th e engine an d connect a tachomoter
accord in g to the tachometer manufacture's
instructions.
4. Start the engine and adjust the idle speed with
the thr onle stop screw.
IDLE SPEED: 1, 5oo :!: 100 rpm
5. Tu rn the air screw in orOU1 slow ly to obta in the
highest engine speed.
6. Readiust the i dle speed wi tfl the t flrm ! le £.top
sc rllW.
7. Tu rn the air screw in gradually un til the engine
speed drops 100 r pm.
8. Turn the air screw canter-clockw i se the number
of turns to Ihe spllcifieati on given.
FINAL OPENING: 1/2 turns out
9. Readjust t he idle speed wit h the thrott le stop
screw.
