Check th at the sealing washer on the drain bo lt is in
good CO lld ition, replace it necessary.
Install and tigh ten the drain bolt.
TORQUE: 2S N.m 12.5 kgf.m , 18 l bf.ft )
Fi ll the crankcase w ith Ihe recommended engi ne oil.
Oi l CA PACITV:
XR100R: 0. 911 (0.95 us qt. 0.79 Imp qt )
XR80R: 0.8 t (0.85 us qt, 0.70 I mp qt )
Install the oil filler cap/dipstic k.
Slart the engine and l et it i dle for 2 to 3 minutes .
Stop the engine a nd rocheck t he oil level.
Make sure there are no oil leak s.

Perlorm tNs Remove the r ig ht crankcase cover (p age 9·3).

Re install the oil strainer screen and ri ght crankcase
cove r (page 9·12).
Fill Ihe
cran kcase w ith recommended engine oil
(page 3·12).
CAM CHAIN TENSION
Start Ihe engine and Ie! it idle .

oosen the cam chain adjuster set plate bolt and
turn the cam chain adjuster in e it her dir ec tion. When
chain noise in minimiled. ti ghten the set plate bolt
If the cam chain is still no isy w ith th e punch mar k at
the "S " position. tighte n the set plate bolt. stop the
engine and proceed w i th I he foll ow i ng steps.
