4-2-5 I/O Allocation Examples
Do not exceed the connection restrictions when connecting Expansion Units
and Expansion I/O Units.
1. A maximum of up to 7 Units can be connected.
2. A maximum of 15 input and output words can be allocated (Input: up to CIO
16, output: up to CIO 116).
Also, the number of Units that can be connected is also restricted by the cur-
rent consumption. Refer to 1-2-4 Restrictions on System Configuration for
details.
Example 1: Connecting Seven Expansion Units and Expansion I/O Units
If there is a Unit that does not use input or output words, the words are allo-
cated to the next Unit.
Example 2: Including a CPM1A-TS002/TS102 Temperature Sensor Unit
A total of up to seven Expansion Units and Expansion I/O Units can be con-
nected. Four input words, however, are allocated to one TS002/TS102 Unit.
Therefore, a maximum of three TS002/TS102 Units can be connected due to
the input word limit.
