CYLINDER INSTALLATION
Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder and the crankcase using
a degreasing cleaning agent and a clean shop towel.
Apply a bead [Ø 1.0 - 2.0 mm (Ø 0.04 - 0.08 in)] of liquid gasket
(Hondabond HT, Loctite 5900, or equivalent).
Assemble within 3 minutes after applying the liquid gasket.
Wait for approximately 30 minutes after assembly and before filling
with oil and starting the engine.
CYLINDER HEAD COVER INSTALLATION
• Do not reuse the original cover if it is bent or damaged.
Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head cover and the
cylinder using a degreasing cleaning agent or a clean shop towel.
Apply a bead [Ø 1.5 - 2.5 mm (Ø 0.06 - 0.10 in)] of liquid gasket
(Hondabond HT or equivalent) to the cylinder head cover.
Assemble within 3 minutes after applying the liquid gasket.
Wait for approximately 30 minutes after assembly and before filling
oil and starting the engine.
