5. ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

REMOVAL
1. Drain the gasoline into an approved container.
2. Drain the engine oil (P. 3 - 6
).
3. Tilt the mower on its right side.
4. Remove the blades (P. 3 - 4
).
5. Remove the rear scroll (P. 12-5
).
6. Remove the Roto-Stop assembly (P. 4 - 2
).
7. Disconnect the throttle cable at the engine.
8. Position a screwdriver or rod in the hole in the
transmission cable bracket.
Pivot the transmission as shown, and remove the belt from
the driven pulley.
9. Remove the drive belt.
10.Remove the drive pulley from the crankshaft.
11. Remove the woodruff key from the outer groove.
