Purpose
For opmum cooling, verify the condion of the air lters.
Acon
• Regularly inspect the air lter. A dirty air lter restricts airow in the unit, producing a negave eect
on the venlaon of the chassis. The lter degrades over me. You must replace the lter every six
months.
CAUTION: Always keep the air lter in place while the switch is operang. Because
the fans are very powerful, they could pull small bits of wire or other materials into the
switch through the unltered air intake. This could damage the switch components.
• EX9200 switches ship with one air lter preinstalled. Spare air lters are separately orderable. The
shelf life of the air lters vary from two to ve years depending on the storage condions. Store
spare air lters in a dark, cool, and dry place. Wrap the air lters separately using plasc wraps and
store them in an environment with RH between 40% to 80% and temperature between 40° F to
90° F. Storing air lters at higher temperatures or where they can be exposed to ultraviolet (UV)
radiaon, hydrocarbon emissions, or vapors from solvents can signicantly reduce their life. If an air
lter develops akes or becomes brile when rubbed or deformed, you must not use it.
