Remove the upper and lower steel balls.
Steel balls
Upper : 25 pcs
Lower : 30 pcs
INSPECTION
Inspect the removed parts for the following abnormalities. If any
damages are found, replace the respective part with a new one.
Steering race wear and brinelling
Worn and damaged steel balls
Distortion of steering stem or handlebar
Remove the outer lower race using a chisel.
Drive out the upper and lower races.
Remove the washer 1 and steering stem nut 2.
Remove the steering stem.
NOTE:
Hold the steering stem bracket to prevent it from falling.
