CLUTCH LOCK-UP
Perform this inspection to determine if the clutch is engaging
fully and not slipping.
Remove the trunk. ( 5-4)
Connect the multi circuit tester to the high-tension cord.
Start the engine.
Apply the rear brake as firm as possible.
Fully open the throttle for a brief period and note the maxi-
mum engine speed sustained during the test cycle.
09900-25008: Multi circuit tester
Lock-up speed: 5 600 – 6 200 r/min
Do not apply full power for more than 10 seconds or
damage to the clutch assembly or engine may occur.
If the lock-up speed does not coincide with the standard range,
refer to the following section to inspect the respective items for
any abnormalities.
