FUEL LINE - QUICK CONNECT REMOVAL /
INSTALLATION
CAUTION
Verify fuel system has been depressurized before
performing this procedure.
All EFI models use quick connect fuel lines. Refer to the
following steps for fuel line removal / installation:
1. Thoroughly clean the connector and place a shop
towel around the fuel line to catch any dripping fuel.
2. Gently expand the connector retainer locking tabs
q
out and slide the retainer away from the line side of
the connector.
3. Lift up on fuel line connector
w
to remove it from the
component fitting.
4. To install the line, verify the connector and fitting are
clean and free of debris.
5. Place the connector end over the fitting and push the
retainer tabs back into place.
NOTICE
Confirm connector attachment by pulling up on fuel
line connector.
FUEL TANK REMOVAL
WARNING
Fuel is extremely flammable and may cause severe
burns, injury, or death. Do not use any device that
produces a flame or electrical devices that may spark
around fuel or fuel vapors.
1. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
2. Remove the engine compartment access panel.
3. Loosen remove the screws securing the right seat
cover panel from the frame to access the battery.
Disconnect the negative (-), and then positive (+)
battery cables from the battery.
4. Remove the battery hold-down bracket. Remove the
battery from the vehicle.
5. Remove the fuel pump cover by pulling up at the front
edge.
