BELT INSTALLATION
NOTE
Be sure to install belt in the same direction as it was
removed.
1. Loop belt over the drive clutch and over the driven
sheave.
2. Loosen the driven clutch retaining bolt
q
to help
spread the clutch sheaves.
3. Rotate the driven clutch and walk the belt into the
clutch.
4. Rotate / spin the driven clutch and belt approximately
5-7 times to properly seat the belt in the driven clutch.
5. Torque driven clutch retaining bolt to specification.
TORQUE
Driven Clutch Retaining Bolt:
43 ft-lbs (58 Nm)
6. Install the outer clutch cover and screws. Torque
screws to specification.
TORQUE
Outer Clutch Cover Retaining Screws:
2 ft-lbs (3 Nm)
PVT BREAK-IN (DRIVE BELT / CLUTCHES)
A proper break-in of the clutches and drive belt will
ensure a longer life and better performance. Break-in the
clutches and belt by operating at slower speeds during
the break-in period ~50 miles. Carry only light loads.
Avoid aggressive acceleration, high speed operation,
and extended time at a specific RPM during the break-in
period.
