6.2.2 Loading the configuration into the controller
If you have changed an existing hardware configuration, then you must first load the actual
configuration to the device. This ensures that the same configuration is set on the PG/PC and
the physical device itself.
Preconditions
● The PLC of the SINUMERIK MC is in the STOP operating state.
Using the TIA Portal, you can stop and then restart the PLC before the loading. However,
the other subcomponents of the SINUMERIK MC are not stopped or started.
● A network connection exists between the PG/PC and the SINUMERIK MC.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to load the hardware configuration into the SINUMERIK MC:
1. Select SINUMERIK MC in the project navigation and call shortcut menu "Load to device >
Hardware configuration".
The "Extended download" dialog opens.
2. Select the PG/PC interface type (the network card being used), e.g. "Intel[R] Ethernet
Connection I217-V".
3. Select the slot for the connection with interface/subnet. The following slots are available:
– 1x150
– 1x160
– 2x130
– 2x127
4. Click "Start search".
A search is made for the target devices, and they are displayed in the dialog.
5. Select the appropriate target device, e.g. based on the IP address, and confirm with "Load".
If several F-CPUs can be accessed from a PG/PC via a network, then carefully observe the
notes in Manual SIMATIC Safety - Configuring and Programming.
6. Check the information in the "Load preview" dialog and confirm with "Load".
7. In the "Results of the load procedure" dialog, select whether the PLC should be restarted,
and then confirm with "Complete".
