A.5 Creating a PLC commissioning archive of a SINUMERIK MC
A SINUMERIK archive offers the following options:
● Direct image of the data of a PLC taken into operation in a file
● Simplification of the series commissioning
● Commissioning the PLC with the SINUMERIK archive directly on the SINUMERIK MC
without using a PG/PC, TIA Portal or STEP 7
● Transferring the data to the SINUMERIK MC without establishing an online connection to
the actual hardware
SINUMERIK archives (*.dsf) have nothing in common with TIA Portal project archives (*.zap*).
TIA Portal project archives are compressed files, each of which contains a complete project,
including the complete folder structure of the project. (See: TIA Portal help under "TIA Portal
project archive").
Unlike TIA Portal project archives (*.zap*), SINUMERIK PLC archives (*.dsf) contain
precompiled commissioning data that you can directly read into the SINUMERIK MC.
The following data is included in a PLC commissioning archive of a SINUMERIK MC:
● Hardware data (SDB) of the PLC
● Program blocks of the PLC Version for actual hardware
● Hardware data (SDB) of the CP
● PLC alarms and text lists (PLCAlarms.xml, PLCTextLists.xml)
SINUMERIK PLC commissioning archives (*.dsf) created with the TIA Portal only contain PLC
data.
Precondition
● The data carrier to be used or storage location is available and has sufficient storage space.
