3. Put rope in the groove of reel 1 and gently turn reel 1
clockwise to release tension of starter spring.
4. Remove start shaft bolt 4, and then, friction plate 3 and
spring 2.
5. Take out reel carefully.

47) Disassembly of Recoil Starter
1. Disconnect upper starter lock cable.
2. Remove bolts, and then, recoil starter and belt cover.
6. Remove bushing 5 and tapping screw 6, and then,
ratchet 7, ratchet guide 8, and return spring 9.
