3) Inspection of Ignition Coils
1. Remove ignition coil coupler.
2. Measure ignition coil resistance. Replace if out of
specification.
Ignition Coil Resistance :
Primary Coil : Between Orange (Or) - Black (B)
0.26 - 0.35 Ω
Secondary Coil : Between High Tension Cord - Black (B)
6.8 - 10.2 kΩ
Secondary Coil : Between Plug Cap - Black (B)
11.8 - 15.2 kΩ
2) Inspection of Plug Cap
Plug Cap Resistance :
3.0 - 7.0 kΩ
Remove the part and test it as a separate unit.
1. Disconnect plug caps from spark plugs.
2. Remove plug cap from high tension cable.
(Cap screws on to wire)
Remove by twisting counterclockwise.
3. Install plug cap onto high tension cord by twisting clockwise.
4. Connect plug cap to spark plug.
This test can be made without removing parts.
3. Measure plug cap resistance. Replace if out of specification.
