Hour Meter
How It Works
Testing
Purpose
Location
The glow pug switch is manually depressed and held in
place for 10 seconds. This activates the relay that closes
the circuit which sends current to the glow plugs.
The hour meter keeps track of the actual engine running
hours.
The hour meter is positioned on the control panel which
is located on the left side of the operator position (Fig.
677).
Only terminals 1 and 2 are used in this application. The
switch can be tested with an ohmmeter. There should
be no continuity between terminals 1 and 2. When
the switch is depressed, there is continuity between
terminals 1 and 2 (Fig. 676).
